In the ever-evolving landscape of leadership and innovation, there are women whose journeys transcend professional success to embody resilience, courage, and vision. Deepika Nangia is one such trailblazer—an extraordinary leader who has built her legacy on pioneering new pathways, transforming challenges into opportunities, and proving that true power lies in balancing ambition with purpose.

Deepika began her career with Patni Computers, followed by nearly a decade at Fidelity Investments, and later spent seven years with NatWest. Over the course of two decades, she honed a diverse skill set across the insurance, mutual fund and banking sectors, establishing herself as a formidable leader in the banking space. She was entrusted with establishing two critical practices—counterparty credit risk and data governance /management —areas that had not existed in India before her vision and expertise gave them life. Not only did she build and lead large-scale teams from scratch, but she also managed their P&L, showcasing her keen business acumen and leadership prowess. Deepika’s story is not one of resting within the comfort of corporate success. Driven by a larger purpose, she turned her attention to one of the most pressing global issues—climate change. She founded her own business in the EV batteries and chargers sector, scaling it to an impressive turnover in just two years. This bold move was more than entrepreneurship; it was a commitment to sustainability and innovation, positioning her as a visionary determined to create meaningful impact.

Her journey, however, has also been marked by deeply personal battles that shaped her resilience. Diagnosed with a slipped disc at just twenty seven, Deepika was told she may never be able to carry a child full term. But with unwavering determination, disciplined yoga practice, and faith, she defied the odds. Today, as her son turns 18 and celebrates his acceptance into UC Berkeley, she reflects on motherhood as her proudest achievement. Her decision to take a two-year sabbatical to support her child during this crucial phase is a powerful statement of her belief that a woman should never have to apologize for raising a child. She passionately advocates for returnship programs that enable women to re-enter the workforce after care giving breaks, encouraging organizations to view motherhood not as a setback, but as a strength.

Deepika’s entrepreneurial journey was marked by challenges, yet she successfully navigated and overcame every obstacle. Beyond boardrooms and businesses, Deepika’s heart beats for causes close to her soul. Her involvement with local charities to build libraries for children reflects her belief that education is the foundation of empowerment and the most meaningful investment in the future. As she looks ahead, Deepika is preparing to embark on her next big venture or challenge, with the same passion and grit that have defined her journey so far.
